FAQ for Couples

In General:

Q: Are you available for weddings outside of the San Francisco region?
A: A good portion of the weddings we shoot involve a considerable amount of travel, and we always welcome the chance to visit new locations.

Q: Do we need to meet with you in person?
A: While it is not necessary to meet in person, we always prefer it whenever possible. The personality of your photographer and cinematographer play such a large part in the entire photo/video experience. We truly believe that the process of working with us and creating what we do should be just as enjoyable as the final product.

Q: Is it possible to meet closer to where we live?

A: If at all possible, it is always better to meet with us in our studio so that we can access plenty more prints, videos, and albums that we can share.

Q: What if things run late on the day?
A: If you’d like us to stay later than what is included in your package, you can always request it. For extra cinematography we charge $200 per hour. Please keep in mind that all additional coverage also includes the subsequent editing, which is often 3-5 times longer than the shooting time. If you believe you will need more coverage, it is usually a better value to get a slighter larger package to begin with.

Q: What happens to the files after the wedding?
A: After editing and delivering the product to you, the newly edited files are backed up. We keep these indefinitely but are only responsible for them for two years following the wedding. Colour-corrected high-resolution files are available for purchase at an extra cost. All raw video footage is stored indefinitely and copies of your video are stored on both DVD and hard drives.

Q: How should we choose the music for our video?
A: You’re welcome to either tell us what style of music you like, or provide us with a list of specific songs. If you give us a list, be sure to give us more than enough, around 15 to 20 songs, so that we can choose those that fit the footage best. Unless your song requests are very old or rare, you won’t have to provide the actual music. If you would like the possibility of having audio (such as your vows) over top of the music, be sure to choose music without lyrics, or with a large break without lyrics. Some of our best work has come when couples have left the music selection up to us (specifically the highlights montages).

Q: Do you include the raw footage?
A: While none of our packages include raw footage, it is always available for purchase. In most cases, all of the “good parts” are already in your video somewhere, so not everyone will benefit from buying it. Raw footage is more beneficial if you’ve had the ceremony portion of your video shortened, if the preparations were more than a couple of hours long, or if you chose a very large package and your final video was less than 90 minutes long. Raw footage is provided on DVD at $50 per hour (minimum order of one hour required), and there is an additional $100 fee if you do not order the raw footage within 72 hours of receiving your final wedding video.
