Vintage-style Highlights of Mimi and Tom’s wedding. Ceremony was at Santa Clara Mission and reception was at San Jose City Hall Rotunda. We found out that Mimi and Tom’s wedding will be featured in theKnot Magazine this fall 2008 and are so elated to have been a part of such a beautiful and intimate event. We’ll also be posting a few gorgeous photos taken by world renowned photographer (and rebel with a camera/all-around nice guy) Gene Higa (www.genehiga.com) from this wedding very shortly…stay tuned!

Okay…this was by far one of the most fun weddings we’ve done. Besides the gorgeous venue (Palm Events Center) and decor, we got a chance to meet an incredible group of people, most importantly: our bride and groom, Leilani and Michael, who made our day so enjoyable with their warm and fun-loving personalities. In addition, we got a chance to work with our wonderful friend and photographer-extraordinaire, Gene Higa (www.genehiga.com). When I first met Gene a few years back, I, immediately, was amazed at his work and mastery of the lens (who isn’t?). So, as soon as I was able to find a way to put some nice 35mm lens on my camera, I was off to see if I can get the same gorgeous shots that I saw from Gene’s camera – but with a cinematic twist of course. Obviously, that’s easier said than done given Gene’s one-of-a-kind talents. But the 35mm lens used for Leilani and Michael’s “Day-Of-Video” gave us some incredible shots and we were thrilled to use any and all that we could get our salivating hands on. The results…well…check it out!!
Joe and Nary’s wedding was shot at St. Marks Church, then to Stanford University for some fun and group shots, and then over to the Mayflower Restaurant for the reception coverage. If you’ll noticed, for the prep coverage, we tested out our new gadget (a 35mm adapter) that allowed us to get the really nice shots of Nary “in focus” but the background being nicely out of focus. We thought the shots came out fantastic…don’t you think? Hope you enjoy it!

We recently had the distinct pleasure to work with a very unique couple, Long and Chau, who came to us and basically put all their trust in our hands to produce for them an engagement video for their historic wedding day (to be shown at their reception – first wedding at the one and only Casa Real). As always, we were up to the challenge. But, truth be told, we were a bit stumped. We’ve seen all the engagement videos out there and wanted something different yet capture the unique personality of our clients. Luckily, we remembered hearing about a bamboo nursery in Aptos that we’ve been dying to shoot at so we decided to get some shots there. Then, it was off to the nearby boardwalk and beach to get some fun action shots. All throughout, we used plenty of fish eye and 35mm to give it a more fresh, edgier, and filmic look. The end result was something we felt was totally unique and different…just what we wanted. Hope you enjoy it too!
Wedding highlights from Christopher and MariaLuara’s wedding that we shot at the beautiful St. Joseph’s Cathedral. We mixed in fun shots captured during the wedding party photo session at the Japanese friendship garden. Enjoy!!

They say marriage can be a bumpy ride but after knowing Joel and Jasmin, I know they can ride those twists and turns of life just fine…not to mention a twirling rollercoaster! We recently shot their wedding at the famous Bonfante Gardens (now called Gilroy Gardens) and have such wonderful memories of the whole event. Here’s a quick highlight of their wedding day to show you how much fun we…err…they had.

Through the years, we’ve seen many different types of weddings…fun, formal, elegant, spontaneous. But as with most weddings, the planning process may seem such a stressful ordeal that the thought of having some fun on your wedding day often gets tossed out. Well…despite the relative craziness of such a notion… it can be done…with a little planning. The following couples (found on youTube) decided to add a few ”extra” personal touches to their wedding. Hope they give some inspiration for you to add a little “twist” to your wedding planning ;). And if the thought of doing something like this causes beads of sweat to collect on your palms and forhead, then just remember…there’s nothing a couple of drinks can’t fix.
My wish is for you to have fun no matter what!
It’s 8am and I am standing out in front of Mindi and Ryan’s house and noone is answering the door. Hmmm? Am I at the right house? I hate it when I do that! Ring again…no answer. Okay…I am starting to sweat now and the temperature outside is a brisk 68 degrees. This begins our adventure of documenting Mindi and Ryan’s special wedding day. Rest assured everything turned out fine but it goes to show that there’s never a routine moment when you are shooting weddings. And we love every minute of it.
One thing that will stick out from their fantastic and gorgeous wedding was how much activity was packed into one single day. I believe we were there for 14 hours total. So as you can imagine when we got home that evening how much footage we had. So what do you do with all that decadent footage? Well…glad you asked! We made a totally decadent music video…with a super “get your booty on the dance floor” track by DJ Sammy. The result? Well….check it out and let us know what you think!
Gwen Stefani’s song…”New”…was the underlying melody to a music video we recently did for Jackie and Danny. We had so much fun shooting their wedding and with all the cool footage we had captured, we couldn’t wait to begin editing the piece for them. The coolest thing about doing music videos is that you get to let go and allow the music to guide your creativity. With Jackie and Danny’s video, we went with a “vintage chic” look (staying true to Gwen’s style). We combined elements of old vintage film effects with modern fast cuts and hypnotic trance-like slow motion. The result can only be something totally pyschedelic.
The hardest part was to maintain the energy level all throughout the video and to also keep the audience guessing. To accomplish this we had to use lots of clips crammed together with fast cuts and also sped up the footage to keep the momentum going. All throughout we sprinkled a bit of our very own CinematicTouch magic and well…you can judge for yourself. We also threw in a few fun fisheye footage that gave a more unique look. All in all, it was fun to edit and hopefully fun to watch.
Enjoy!
