Some tips…to make your wedding video better.

1.   If you are going to have an outdoor wedding, consider a site where the sun doesn’t shine directly into your eyes during the ceremony.  It may cause you to squint and will show up on the video.

2.  During the processional when the bride is about to make her entrance, please make sure to clear out the area behind the bride and her parents.  (ie. coordinators, guests, church staff, children, etc.).  It’s a moment that shouldn’t be distracted by other people in the background.

3.  In between the ceremony and the reception, remember to let the photographer know that you need to spend about 10 minutes with the videographer.  If you like some of the shots you’ve seen in our demos, we’ll need this time to make sure we capture the necessary scenes and feelings.  This will greatly enhance the artistic quality of your video.

4.  Audio is 50% video.  Whenever there are vocals to be captured (ie. singers, guitarists, special readings, blessings, etc.) remember to let us know so that mics can be placed on or near the area where vocals need to be recorded.  Trust me, it’ll turn out much better on the video.

5.  Walk slowly…very slowly down the isle.

6.  During the processional (especially when the bride makes her entrance), please tell your guests to not block the isles to take pictures.

7.  If you are going to have a presentation during the reception, please RENT the projection equipment from a professional.  It doesn’t cost that much more and you won’t have to fuss with the setup.  Or consider renting an LCD Widescreen display and set it aside on a nicely decorated table to show your presention during the cocktail hours.  This will free up a bit of time in the reception schedule if needed.

 8.  During your first dance, just enjoy the moment and focus on your spouse.  Try not to interact too much with the audience or pay any attention to them as this will take away from the intimacy of the moment.  Remember to smile :) .

Please let me know if you have any more helpful tips to add.

Cheers!

Wedding First Dances (with a twist)!

Through the years, we’ve seen many different types of weddings…fun, formal, elegant, spontaneous.  But as with most weddings, the planning process may seem such a stressful ordeal that the thought of having some fun on your wedding day often gets tossed out.  Well…despite the relative craziness of such a notion… it can be done…with a little planning.  The following couples (found on youTube) decided to add a few ”extra” personal touches to their wedding.  Hope they give some inspiration for you to add a little “twist” to your wedding planning ;).  And if the thought of doing something like this causes beads of sweat to collect on your palms and forhead, then just remember…there’s nothing a couple of drinks can’t fix. :)   My wish is for you to have fun no matter what!

WEVA Expo 2007 Finalist Award – Awesome!

The WEVA International Expo 2007 ended this week and we were able to take home a “Finalist” award in the Bridal Spotlight category.  Not bad considering this was our first international competition.  I am so proud to be included among such great company and am inspired to go to the next level in preparation for next year’s competition.  In the words of Emeril: “Let’s kick it up a few notches!!” :)
